Submitted information may not be factual information as users submit the names they want listed which may not be their actual names but rather an avatar for this website. Users may create profiles that are unidentifiable to their actual identities by their own choice and accord. Users may change their profile’s name at any given time. 

We collect your personal information when you voluntarily provide us with information, visit the MiskatonicUniversity.org website, register on the MiskatonicUniversity.org website, use Miskatonic University services, and purchase using a partner website such as Zazzle.com and CafePress.com.

The reason all this information is clearly provided is that Miskatonic-University.org is a network social-media site. The entire platform is built for community building around the works of H.P. Lovecraft. All information displayed on member profiles are strictly information provided by users upon purchase of membership. Users are free to provide their factual name or may submit a fictitious name and profile. Miskatonic University does not verify any profile information provided by member’s of this website as that information is strictly or novelty and vanity purposes.

Legal Requirements

Your personal information may be disclosed to government and law enforcement agencies if required to do so by law, court order, or in the good faith belief that disclosure is necessary. This may be done without notice to the affected individual.  Further, to the extent required by law, we respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.

Miskatonic University does not seek to receive information from children under the age of 18. However, memberships on the www.MiskatonicUniversity.org site are made without requiring the user to disclose his or her age as all information is considered fictitious.

Your billing address and credit card information is collected through PayPal.com on behalf of Miskatonic University to process your membership. Credit card information and passwords generated through their  systems are stored fall under the privacy terms of PayPal.com. This information will be used if we need to contact you regarding that purchase.
