Students will study the fundamentals of musical composition through actual practice of composition.  Topics covered include modern counterpoint, canon and fugue, and free harmony.  Students must be proficient in at least one instrument in order to succeed in this course.  Any student who is uncertain of their level may audition with the instructor prior to registering.
